Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk A.G.

Briennerstraße 9, Erzgießereistraße 18, Munich, Bavaria.
Kunst-Töpferei / Art Pottery.
Formed on the 13th April 1898. Closed down in 1991.
The company became a signatory and founder member of the "
Deutsche Werkbund" (German Work Federation) on the 5/6th October 1907.
Moved to Bremen in 1910 and then back to Munich in 1939.
Lead by Franz August Otto Krueger & Hermann Obrist, with co-founders and members 
Richard Riemerschmid  Franz Ringer  Theodor (Herrmann) Schmuz-Baudiss  Peter Behrens 
Bernhard Pankok and Bruno Paul, for the manufacture and promotion of handcrafted items from their own studio.

Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk A.G.14-9-9-1
1/2 litre Villeroy & Boch - Mettlach #2684, with Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk A.G. basemark, dated 1900 and designed by Richard Riemerschmidt. The pottery was presumably made by V&B-M and given to V.W. for glazing. It is reported that this stein is very similar to Reinhold Merkelbach #1729.

Base of featured stein: 1/2 l.itre, Villeroy & Boch - Mettlach #2684, with no V&B-M logo, but instead
 with a good base mark of Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk A.G., dated 1900.
