He was born on the 30th March 1926 in Tettau, Bavaria. There he trained at the Königlichen privilegierten Porzellanfabrik and educated at the Fachschüle fur Porzellan in Selb. In 1955 he founded his own glass and porcelain decoration factory in Munich, and in 1972, built a larger factory in Schondorf am Ammersee,  He died on 22nd March 2010.
