G. Ulrich 1 The Wappen above, dated 1927, indicates the fraternity,"Schwarzburgverbindung Schauenburg Hamburg" which is a member of the association "Schwarzburgbund". The name "Schauenburg" was adopted from the Counts of Schauenburg, (later spelt Schaumburg), and was founded on 25/04/1919 with the colours of Blue-White-Red and the motto "Dütsch von Hart und Sinnen", which translates as "German in Heart & Mind" from the original Low German (Plattdeutsch). The fraternity became inactive in 1975 due to lack of membership, but can be reactivated at any time whilst the "Altherrenverein" exists. References: Schauenburg Hamburg
