Johann Martin Schnapper III

Hohe Straße 18 / Spitalstraße 2, Giengen an der Brenz, Württemberg (now Baden - Württemberg)

The family of Schnapper was well established in Giengen with the Pastor Johann Schnapper producing a son, Christian Friedrich on the 15th May 1695, who became a Master Pewterer around 1720. His mark included the initials, CFS. He died on the 2nd January 1781. His son had been born on the 3rd November 1727 and was named Johannes, who subsequently died on the 22nd August 1805. Johannes son, Christian Friedrich II was born 3rd October 1760 and died 6th May 1832. 
Christian Friedrich II's son, Johann Martin was born on the 27th July 1801, and became a master Pewterer in 1825. Died in 11th May 1880. Johann Martin's son, Christian Friedrich III was born on 19th February 1826, and died on the 16th October 1896, Johann Martin's second son, Johann Martin II, was born 9th August 1849 and died 31st July 1891. Johann Martin II's son, Johann Martin III Schnapper was born on the 26th September 1880 and is married on the 27th June 1908. It is currently unknown how long the pewter business lasted after this date.
