Wilhelm Schiedt was a Leipzig company specializing in porcelain, glass, and luxury goods. Known as Wilhelm Schiedt Leipzig, the company traded in pressed glass from Germany, England, and France between 1878 and approximately 1890. Several pattern books from this glass trading company exist.
The website "sachsen.digital" published a photo of a sales slip by this company, which they date to circa 1940, so we know they were retailing then, still at the address Markt 13 in Leipzig, under the name "Wilhelm Schiedt, Spezialhaus für Glas, Porzellan und Kristall".
So far I have seen only one example of a glass beer stein that shows this name on the pewter tang. That same glass has a logo in the base that shows a large 'S' and possibly also a 'W'.
