He trained at Villeroy & Boch - Mettlach, Wächtersbach Keramik and worked at Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen.
At the end of the nineteenth century he founded his own design workshop and sales outlet in Munich..
His motivation was to produce a quality product and then learn how to have it mass produced. Franz Scholze produced a lot of decoration work for Jean Beck.
