/2 litre Villeroy & Boch - Mettlach #1431, Student stein, dated 1895. On the side is the decoration date, "Escalade 1897". This denotes the annual Swiss fete, celebrating the defeat of the surprise attack on Geneva, by troops sent by Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy during the night of 11-12 December 1602.
