Entwerfer & Modelleur / Designer & Modeller

Erich Müller was born on the 23rd April 1889. He was the son of Walter Müller of the stoneware company, Müller Inhaber Müller & Werner. After a two year course, which started May 1905 and finished March 1907, he passed his examinations at the Königliche Keramische Fachschule in Höhr. It should be noted that he attended the school, with Rudolf Wewerka and also possibly Hans Wewerka, both being the sons of Joseph W. Wewerka. From 1908 it is thought that he was one of the designers for his family company, but since the family name of Müller could have been confused with Albin Müller, he is listed just as Erich in the October 1908 catalogue. The business, probably due to production difficulties, did not prosper and by 1912 they were rapidly becoming insolvent and Erich lost interest in the company. In 1914 he was conscripted into the army. Nothing is known of him after this date.
